It could be the young lady sitting beside you at church or the middle aged woman in your bible study; daughters of God who are not not labeled as “mother”. Our churches are filled with women of God who live by Titus 2 :3-5:
“Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.“
These are the women in our church who teach others but do not have children of there own. There could be many different reasons why they’re not mothers, or the fact is it’s just not their season yet.
You see them helping in the nursery, the kitchen, youth group, and women’s ministry. They “mother” and teach us, but are often forgotten on Mother’s Day because they physically do not have a child in their care. This Mother’s Day my challenge to you is to include all women in the celebration.
I hope you have a great Mother’s Day!
