Did anybody ever tell you that parenting would be hard? I’m sure someone told me, but I think I must have been so caught up in the joy that I didn’t take note. But, boy, oh boy. Has it hit me like a ton of bricks! It’s hard, y’all. Every day is hard.
Can I tell you how much I needed Katie’s post this week? As I sit here tonight with a little four year old who couldn’t go to church tonight because of her behavior today. I needed to know that being faithful in this season is actually authentic courage. It takes courage to wake up each morning and face a new day with a defiant child. But I must be faithful. I must wake up each morning and remember those days (oh, those many days) where I weeped for children. I must remember that promise I made to the Lord…that one where I said I would never forget those days of wanting and pleading. I must be faithful in loving her with every bit of Jesus I have in me, because she needs to know that there’s someone that can change our hearts. Faithful. Daily faithful.
Do you need that reminder today? Do you need to be encouraged that simple faithfulness right where you are in life is the greatest form of courage, the greatest form of obedience, the greatest form of thankfulness for all that He’s blessed us with? If so, head over to Katie’s today…
