10 MUST KNOW Makeup Tips for the Holidays

One of my favorite parts of getting ready for holiday gatherings is doing my makeup!  I’ve talked to many women that dread this part, however, because of lack of knowledge of tips and tricks.  I hope that some of the information in the list below gives you a little boost of confidence when applying your makeup this holiday season!  KEEP CALM AND MAKEUP ON!

10 MUST KNOW Makeup Tips for the Holidays:

1. Do your eye makeup before your foundation routine so that clean up under your eyes is easier in case you have eye shadow fallout!

2. Use an eyeshadow primer and let it set for a few minutes before applying eye shadow.  I love Urban Decay’s Primer Potion.  A little bit goes a long way!

3. If you do nothing else on this list please show some love to your eyebrows by filling them in for a more defined and polished look.  Make sure you set them after filling them in with something like NYX Control Freak.

4. Using Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel * as a primer after moisturizing and before foundation application is a great way to insure a flawless- looking face all day!

5. Use a brightening concealer (I like Maybelline Instant Age Rewind)  under your eyes and blend with your fingers for a few seconds to warm up the product.  Finish blending it with the Beauty Blender sponge by dabbing it until it’s blended into the skin.

6. Set your under eye concealer with a different powder than your foundation powder for a highlighting effect.  I like Ben Nye’s banana powder.

7. Make sure to set your makeup with a setting spray for an extra boost in staying power throughout the day.  I really like Urban Decay’s All Nighter setting spray.

8. Coat both sides of your lashes and wiggle from root to tip for a lengthening and voluminous application.

9. If you have really straight lashes and desire a curl that lasts all day, curl lashes and then apply a coat of WATERPROOF mascara before your usual mascara for amazing hold.

10. Lining your lips and filling them in with the same liner prior to lipstick application makes for a long-lasting lip color throughout the day.  Jordana is one of my favorite brands and is sold exclusively at Walgreens stores.

Do you have any makeup tips and tricks?  If so, please share below!!!

* Not to be used daily as it is not an actual face primer*
