Little Critter Books #Giveaway!

October 22, 2013 by Christie 29 Comments

Thomas Nelson provided a copy of You Go First and It’s True for me to review and keep.  All opinions are my own!

Growing up, Little Critter books were one of my favorites and I’m excited to share two brand new books from their faith inspired series!  Mercer Mayer has been writing and illustrating Little Critter stories since 1975 and Tommy Nelson is pleased to bring him to the faith community!

Little Critter by Mercer Mayer

In You Go First, Little Critter loves to be first in everything: first to play, first to eat, first on the bus, and  even first in the three-legged race!  It’s not long before his friends are fed up with his always wanting to be first and Miss Kitty has to remind him that the Bible tells us to treat others as we’d like to be treated.  After a scary encounter while trying to be first, Little Critter finally realizes that being first isn’t always the best!

In It’s True, Little Critter has a problem with only telling part of the truth, not the whole truth!  If he wants a treat or wants to look cool, Little Critter’s not afraid to bend the truth a little.  After a little lie leads to Critter’s friends expecting a big surprise at the air show, he realizes that the truth will set you free!
Both of these books teach great lessons through situations that each of our kids face as they grow up.  I’m sure we’ve all wanted to be first or tell a little lie every now and then.  Little Critter helps children learn what God’s word says about each of them.
Today, one reader will win a copy of You Go First and It’s True!  Please use the Rafflecopter form below to enter!

I subscribe by email! My kids love Little Critter books, and I love the topics of these books. They’d be perfect for one daughter in particular right now.
I would appreciate prayers for my foster daughters’ future. Friday is a big day for them as far as decisions go. Thanks!

My family absolutely loves these books. We are atheists, so I had no idea these were supposed to be Christian books. I just thought they had good lessons for all children. Even atheists like to have caring, understanding children.

Atheists love Little Critter, too. We also want our children to be well adjusted, fair-minded kids who show one another respect and tolerance!

I’ve been following for awhile, so I’m not really sure how I got here. My daughter has been having earaches this week. Blessedly, that is the only thing off the top of my head that requires prayer.
I’m hosting a giveaway myself for a self-published friend. I would be happy if you could stop by and enter. Perhaps you will discover a new favorite book.

I’m thrilled your offering this giveaway! I plan on picking up some of the Little Critter stories for my son anyways. I loved them when I was little and I know he would too. Your post the other day about being in ministry, but being human, and the line about “just point my kids to Jesus,” hit a chord with me and I keep finding myself thinking back to that over the last couple days.. Thanks for doing what you do!
