I received a copy of Jacob: Journaling the Journey to review and keep. All opinions are my own!
Back in January I was contacted by a blog reader about the possibility of reviewing and giving away a copy of her devotional, Jacob: Journaling the Journey. Since I love sharing these finds with all of you, I immediately said, “Yes!”
I anticipated the arrival of the book and I was so excited to receive it which just happened to be the same day that we found out about Kharis’ birth parents! So, to say that this review and giveaway is long overdue is an understatement! I pray that you’re as blessed by this study as I have been!
Jacob: Journaling the Journey, written by Michelle Lesley, is a bible-study based on the life of Jacob – from the time of his birth in Genesis 25 to his death in Genesis 50. Through this study we see Jacob grow from a quarrelsome young boy to “a founding father of the faith”.
Michelle does an awesome job of turning the life of an old testament giant into an interesting, thought provoking, and fun journey. With each lesson, we learn from Jacob’s (and his family’s) troubles and triumphs and learn to lean into the Lord along the way.
I love that Michelle wrote the study from her own personal journals through the life of Jacob. Not only does it give us a more intimate walk through Genesis, but it gives us a more modern look into what Jacob’s life might have been like.
The study has a very relaxed feel to it and allows readers to go at their own pace. So, whether you’re looking for a group bible study or a personal study of your own, Jacob: Journaling the Journey can be tailored to your needs. With 77 chapters, readers can either do the study on their own doing one chapter a day, or Michelle even lays out an 11 week, 15.5 week, and 25.5 week study plan for group bible studies. We have a weekly bible study at church that I am looking forward to sharing Jacob with. I hope that you’ll look into sharing it with your friends and church family, too!
Today, one reader will win a copy of Jacob! Please use the Rafflecopter form below to enter!

yes, the Lord has changed me in many ways over the ways whether it was through good experiences or some very sad and hard to get through experiences.
He’s done so much for me and changed me so much. He brought me from the brink of disaster as a teenager who was turning her back on Him to back to his arms and now I’m an avid believer. He’s constantly working in my life and I can only pray that my faith and the way I live my life brings glory to him.
He laid it on my heart to be a foster mom, so far we’ve had 9 children come through our home. Very challenging, but I know I couldn’t do it on my own.
The Lord has changed me many ways in the last few years. He helped me to get out of a very bad relationship and brought me back closer to my family.
The Lord has guided both my husband & I since when we were dating. He has led us from a year long internship at a church to our current home where my husband is serving as family life minister & I am staying home with our son. I want to ce to be used for his glory!
He has helped me work harder in my marriage.
I moved when I didn’t want to move across the country. It was hard. But I met my husband by moving.
The Lord has made me realize that I need to be more thankful, more forgiving, and more patient. I have changed a lot of the things that I did before like drink alcohol. I also am more giving, and try to give as much as I can. In fact, Im entering this to win for my brother and his wife. They read the Bible every morning together and I think that they would really enjoy this! God has taken me out of an abusive relationship and has provided me with my husband now, who is amazing. We have infant twins, and it sure has been a journey.
God has used me to be an example to others to always give thanks to God, and to show them how POWERFUL prayer is! People cannot believe the “luck” we have, but I know that it is all the works of God!
God took a broken vessel (me) who thought they were worthless to do any good for the kingdom or other (due to lifestyle growing up)and showed me my worth and now I’m working in children’s ministry sharing God’s love to children.
After I lost my young daughter in a house fire I was into drugs and self- destructive behavior. I thought God had punished me for something I had done. After 11 years of living like this I gave to Jesus and begged him to deliver me from my myself. And He did, just as he always promised He’d do. I live again though Jesus Christ. So happy I found your Blog!!!
He’s made me more compassionate and understanding.
God has given me peace. He guides me through my daily life and never leaves my side.
