I’d love to introduce you to Pat of Cross My Heart Handbags and More. Pat was in my footer ad all last month and it’s been a joy to pray for and with her, as well as promote her shop! I asked her to share a little bit about herself and her shop, today. I pray that you’re as blessed by her as I have been.
My business was created after my husband went into remission from amyloidosis after two years of being deathly ill. At that time I was working 60 or more hours a week in accounting and taking my husband to doctors, chemo treatments, emergency rooms, hospital stays, etc. It was a very stressful time. Needless to say, when he went into remission, I fell apart. I have always believed in God, but was never close to Him.
One day after crying all day at work and driving home, I stopped at the offices of Gateway Church, which was the beginning of my healing. I went to all the freedom classes, saw a Psychiatrist, and he recommended a Christian therapist. I got involved in reading the bible, which I had never done before. I am so much better today, even though my husband is very sick again today and has been for a number of years.
My family has been my blessing and they have helped me so much! God has given me the best children any one could want, even though their childhood was awful, as I stayed with an abusive man (ex-husband) for 24 years.
One day on my way home from Gateway, I felt a small stirring of God’s voice to use my gift of sewing for His glory! Right then and there about a dozen white birds flew directly in front of my window. And then other ideas and sayings kept popping in my mind for no reason. For that reason, I feel this is what I’m destined to do.
My dream is to be successful so I can start supporting abused women and their children. This is my desire; that every person that sees one of my bags on someone’s arm, thinks about Jesus, if only for a moment. I have a passion to express the love of Jesus thru my handmade bags.
