I finally received a text that sounded promising — M was heading to the hospital and the contractions were getting more intense. It took everything in me not to jump in the car and head to the hospital, but I knew it could still be a while!
It had been a long few days with us leaving so late the day before and not getting much sleep, so I was growing tired. By 9pm I knew I either needed to go to bed or go to the hospital so I texted M’s mom for an update…there was no change from the time she had arrived and they weren’t even sure if they were going to admit her yet.
I finally dragged myself upstairs and laid down on the bed. I don’t even think I changed clothes, but I finally fell asleep.
At 7am I checked in again only to find out that they’d sent M home, but that Kharis looked good on the monitor! So, I was resolved to try to go about my day and not drive myself (and everyone else) crazy along the way.
Our friends neighborhood was having a community yard sale that morning so we decided to go out and look around for a bit. Around 9am M’s mom texted again saying they were headed back to the hospital and an hour later she was being admitted!
Oh my goodness! My baby girl was on her way! We headed back to the house, jumped in the shower, and headed to the hospital.
The wait was almost over!

It’s so exciting! Love hearing how she came in to the world, and your family 🙂

I think its super adorable that you are adopting a child. It warms my heart when people adopt because there are so many children who need homes.
