As most of you know, we traveled to Florida a couple of weekends ago to meet our birth parents for the first time! To say that it was a great weekend is an understatement! I’d written up an entire post about our time with them and accidentally deleted it! I’m determined to get it written again, but in the meantime I wanted to share an awesome opportunity I had that weekend and present you with an awesome car, too!
- 17-inch Tires with Alloy Wheels
- Power-folding Outside Mirrors with Turn Signal Indicators
- Power Sunroof with Tilt (optional)
- UVO Powered by Microsoft Infotainment System
- Rear-backup Camera Display
- Sirius Satellite Radio
- Bluetooth Wireless Technology
- On-board Navigation (optional)
- Push-button Start with Smart Key (optional)
- Steering Wheel Mounted Audio/Bluetooth/Cruise Control Buttons
- Active Eco-System
- Heated Driver and Passenger Seats
- LATCH System (Low Anchors and Tethers for Children)
- and more!
Another area we all worry about when traveling is gas mileage! I was so pleased by the Kia’s fuel economy! Listed as 28 MPG (city) and 36 MPG (highway), we averaged 37+ MPG for our trip! A neat feature in the driver control panel is the ability to display your average MPG as you drive. A gauge moves up and down from 0-60 MPG. The more you press the gas, the more gas you use! I’ve always known this, but the ability to watch it go up and down as I drove made me more conscientious!
The Kia Rio SX also comes with the Active Eco-System enabling you to push the Active Eco button which then tells the car that you’re looking for a more fuel efficient driving experience. The gas peddle becomes a little more sensitive to how you’re driving, therefore enabling you to use less fuel! Our trip took us about 10 hours each way and we only used a tank and a half of gas each time!
I was so spoiled by this car! The push-button start with smart key was so much fun. Being able to unlock the car door with the button on the door handle was such a great feature and not having to fumble for my keys (but making sure they were in my purse and in the car) to turn the car on was exciting…I’m pretty easy to please!
Sirius satellite radio and on-board navigation were two of the features that we used most often while we were away. We love Christian music, so to be able to listen to it on a 10 hour drive without commercials was great!
Of course, when you’re heading out of town a good GPS is a must. We were pleased by the on-board navigation system’s ability to get us where we needed to go while in a different city! It also had the ability to show us nearby gas stations, dining options, shopping, etc.
I loved that the car came equipped with an iPhone charger (iPhone 4 and below) as I never remember to bring my own! I was able to keep my phone charged and listen to my iPod at the same time! As soon as I hooked my phone up the stereo mode automatically switched over and picked up the music I had downloaded onto my phone…so cool! We also synced our phones to the Bluetooth enabled system which allowed for hands free calling, voice command dialing, etc.
If I actually took the time to go into detail about all of the features I loved about this car (cruise control features, sun roof, rear backup camera, and more) we’d be here all day! If we weren’t growing our family, I’d definitely consider the Kia Rio SX for our next car.
If you’re looking for a reliable, fuel efficient, family car the Kia Rio SX is a steal! Starting at just $17,700 ($21,340 for features listed above) the Rio SX provides high quality features at an affordable price. Check out local dealer quotes below…you won’t be disappointed!
