VintageWoods Children’s Books {#Giveaway}

December 3, 2012 by Christie 31 Comments

I’m excited to introduce you to another advertiser on the blog this month!  Sarah of VintageWoods Children’s Books has been so fun to work with!  She’s also donating 100% of her sales to World Vision up until New Years!  I love working for a great cause and this has certainly been worth it!

Hello.

My name is Sarah Woods and I am the owner of the quirky little Etsy Children’s Book Shop, VintageWoods.  I live in Chicago and absolutely love finding adorable old books for your purchasing pleasure. My favorites are the odd, quirky and unusual titles! It’s like a little treasure hunt adventure!

I started my shop in April of 2011. The shop started out as a random bunch of vintage items. Although my sales were pretty good, I noticed that a huge portion of sales were coming from the “Vintage Children’s Books” section of my shop. After 1 year of having my shop open as a vintage goods shop I decided to switch my inventory over to Vintage Children’s Books (20+ years old) only.

I have always had a tremendous love for Children’s books, they are so fun to flip through. Some of my personal childhood favorites were “Danny the Dinosaur” and “Little Rabbit”. My favorite part of selling vintage children’s books is being able to sell books to people who want to pick up a copy of a book they loved as a child to give to their own children. A huge portion of my sales also are adults picking up a copy of a book that their mother or grandmother used to read to them as a child as a sentimental gift. For me it’s really fun to put smiles on people’s faces and bring back memories from their childhood. Someday I hope that my Etsy shop might turn into a full time job for me. My ultimate goal is to own my own website and have thousands of children’s books available for people to purchase. But for the time being, owning a shop is a little side hobby for me to have in my free time. ..and I absolutely love it!

    Honestly – Just plan Maggie was one of my fav books growing up. my mom had let me read it, and I was in love with it. What an adventurous book! It also helped me to get ready for when I was going to go off to camp – so I had somewhat of an idea as to what to expect.
