What a great week to be thankful! Christmas was so much fun this year. And, although our year was hard, we still had a lot to be thankful for this week!
Of course, I didn’t write down as many “thankfuls” this week, as we were pretty busy. But, I did manage to think of a few!
Time with family, Christ’s Birth, Christmas, Education, Heaven!
Time with family: We were beyond thankful this week to be able to spend time with both of our families on Christmas Day. I was also blessed to be able to see my extended family last weekend for our annual family Christmas.
When Q and I first got married we lived about three hours from my parents and about nine hours from Q’s mom and brother’s in Alabama. Each year we had to switch families to make things fair! I’m thankful that we’re all in North Carolina now and don’t have to choose who to spend holidays with!
Christ’s Birth: How could it be Christmas week and we not be thankful for the birth of our Savior? He is the greatest gift of all and I’m beyond thankful that He called me out from darkness and sin and gave me new life!
Christmas: For all of the reasons above and the fact that I just love Christmas! I’m sad that it’s over!
Education: I’m thankful for education and the opportunity that we have in America to attend school. I’m thankful that Q is so diligent in completing his Master’s degree as we set out on year six! He’s even talked lately of going for his doctorate…pray for me! School, marriage, and ministry are not for the faint of heart!
Heaven: This year we’re especially thankful for heaven and the hope that Christ gives us in that. Q’s mom passed away in May. Although it was hard to go through the holiday’s without her, we rest in the knowledge that she is with the Lord (and 2 grandchildren – ours and Q’s brothers – that passed away before birth). We know that He has prepared a place for us and we can’t wait to meet Him there one day!
How is your Thankful Giving Jar going? I’d love to hear about it!

so many wonderful things to be thankful for.
and you’re so right about being thankful for heaven. loss is hard, especially someone that close, and it’s wonderful when we can rest assured that our loved ones have journeyed on to meet the Lord.

hope that you have a happy new year! and thanks for all your help on the blog hop. you’re such a gem 🙂
