This week has been such a blessing as our Thankful Giving Jar has been our kitchen table center piece. Throughout the day I’ll look at it and immediately start to think of what I’m thankful for!
In one week we’ve written down 13 things we’re thankful for and we’ve added one dollar for each one! Each morning while I feed Moriah breakfast I sit and think of all that the Lord has already blessed us with. As we continue to approach Christmas, it brings me joy to focus on what I’ve already received!
We had a jar full of loose change in our bedroom that I’ve been taking from! I was at the store the other day and thought, “I probably need to take some cash out for my Thankful Giving Jar!”
I’ve also been thinking and praying about who the Lord might have us to donate the money to at the beginning of the new year. We have a couple of youth that have moved onto college and are now answering the Lord’s call to missions. I’m sure they could use some financial assistance. I also know a ton of adoptive families that would be blessed to receive it, as well. We’ll continue to seek the Lord’s will in the next few weeks!
Have you been participating with us? I’d love to hear how your Thankful Giving Jar is going!

This is such a great idea! Similarly, have you heard of the idea of putting spare change and money in a jar all year and then giving it to someone in need at the end of the year? There’s a book about it or something. I would love to do that as a new tradition.
