Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser {Blogger/Shop Owner Opp}

November 8, 2012 by Christie 4 Comments

One of my girls came up to me last Friday and asked if she could keep her phone with her for our weekend long youth event.  As she stood there and told me of her mother’s house being under eight feet of water and not knowing where her older brother was (he has been located), the affects of Hurricane Sandy hit home.
When a bloggy friend offered an opportunity to help raise money for the victims, I couldn’t help but say, “Yes!”.
If you’re a shop owner, blogger with available ad space, or just want to donate an item to help raise money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy, please see the details from Lauren below.

It’s heartbreaking to hear of tragedy, but it really hits you hard when it’s in your own backyard! We were so fortunate to have had no damage (other than some down trees like the one in the photo), but others lost family members, homes, cars, and so many memories. I would love to set up an auction as a fundraiser to help heal those who have lost so much.

Do you have something you’d like to donate? It can be anything from a handmade item to ad space on your blog! Please take a moment to fill out this form. The auction will be posted here on the blog on Sunday November 11th and will be open for a week. All the proceeds made from the auction will be donated to Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts.

I’d like to thank the other wonderful ladies helping to promote this fundraising event:

  • A Proverbs 31 Wife
  • Earning My Cape
  • Pam’s Party Planning
  • Satisfaction Through Christ
  • Natural Living Mama
  • Two Sasters

Other ways to help:

  • Make it Better Craftalong for Sandy Relief
  • Purchase the “Want to know something awesome, I can handle anything.” print from Yellow Heart Art
  • Crochet, Knit & Sew Your Way to Help Victims of Hurricane Sandy

I had no problems leaving a comment. While I was here I became a new follower.

Hi sweets, I am actually wrapping up a campaign called: WE ARE THE MAKERS OF PEARLS: A Campaign Celebrating The Strength of Women. It’s in support of women fighting breast cancer but is a celebration of all women who take the sometimes painful circumstances life gives them and shapes them into a beautiful sort of living. I would gladly donate an item from my “Pearl Makers” collection in support of you and this great project. Thank you for seeing a need and springing into action. Please do email me with details on how I can help: localsugarhawaii@gmail.com

    Also,

I just wanted to you to know how incredibly sweet it was to have you at An Aloha Affair last week. I hope you’ll join me and our team of beautiful bloggers this week for an even bigger affair. I’ll save a spot just for you…

    Cheers,
    Nicole
