I spoke with our attorney mid-week and she completely agreed with our concerns. She said that they would be having all birthparents sign an agreement that no pictures were to be posted on the internet without the consent of the adoptive parents.
She also said that she would call our BM and ask her to take them down. She hoped that she would cooperate, but said if not, she would not send any more pictures.
I didn’t hear back from our attorney but Moriah’s picture is down…I feel much better.
I had a mix of emotions during the whole “ordeal”. Mainly, not sure if I was being overly protective or even selfish. This is our first go at the adoption process and the emotions that go along with all of it. I pray that the Lord would give me a sincerely understanding heart as to the emotions that our BM is feeling. I pray, even now, that He would equip us with the right words and actions when the time comes to integrate Moriah’s adoption story into her life story.
Thank you all for your comments and encouragement…you’re the best, as usual! 🙂
