The Room

December 16, 2010 by Christie 9 Comments

We’ve been hard at work ever since we got the call for an interview for “J”. You should have seen this room before; talk about Grandma’s coming to town! Neither of us are decorators, so I think we’ve done a pretty good job. I didn’t take a picture of the rocker in one corner and the bookcase, but something still seems to be missing. Go easy on us, we’re amateurs!

We’d been blessed with a crib a while back. We decided to turn it into a toddler bed and run with a “transportation” theme.
We had my friend come over and paint this verse on the wall.
(The wall is yellow, the words are done in navy blue.)

To add onto my great decorative skills, I also specialize in photography 😉
The little car on the wall is actually a nite light and in the right corner we have a pompazon chair with a transportation themed blanket and a toy plane with Elmo as the pilot! 🙂
The chair in the left corner is Q’s moms, which needs to be taken to her. In the meantime, I’m guessing it will serve as timeout!
We had this dresser in the “old room” and I hated it; it went right along with the Grandma theme. But, we bought this cute canvas painting, lamp, race care piggy bank, and toy bins to lighten it up a little bit!

All of our shopping was done at Tar*get…they come in pretty handy every now and then! Once we know that “J” is ours we’d love to do something with his name somewhere in the room. But, until then, I hope this suits the social worker!
Don’t forget, our interview is at 11am on Tuesday. I’ve been busy washing couch cushions and all that fun stuff today. There’s nothing like keeping yourself busy 🙂
I pray you’re all doing well! I’m off to catch up a little bit!

The room is precious! It reminds me of my son Jackson’s nursery that he had when he was a baby. It was a travel theme from target also. Good luck I will be praying for you! How exciting!
