I have tried, numerous times, to write an update from last week! You’ll have to forgive me and I’ll have to post pictures of Baby Blake later! Those of you that are my FB friends, you’ve already been graced with his cuteness!
Last I left you, I was heading down to the hospital around 10:30am last Tuesday. We spent the whole day at the hospital, not thinking that she was progressing very quickly at all. We headed down to dinner around 6pm and came back up to find out that she was 8-9cm dialated. By 7pm she was pushing and Baby Blake arrived at 7:20pm. My sister is a monster, as Blake weighed 9 lbs 12 oz and was 22.5 inches long!!!!
Mom, Dad, and Baby went home on Thursday and Big Brother Cameron has been enthralled ever since!
I have to tell you, it was amazing to realize during the delivery process (and since), the “peace that surpasses all understanding”. The Lord truly calmed my heart on Tuesday and allowed me to truly enjoy and experience the birth of my nephew. I’m so thankful that He cares so much about me, that He gives me peace and joy when I need it most. I pray that you are able to experience that peace and joy, as well!
On the adoption front; we received an email last Monday saying that we’d been chosen for an interview for the 2.5 year old little boy that I told you about a month or two ago. Guess what!? We’re still waiting to get a call from his social worker to set up an interview time and date! I would have never imagined saying this but, I think his social worker may be worse at communication than ours is…Lord help us!
We still haven’t received any news on our license status. Please pray that this doesn’t play a factor in whether we’re able to be chosen for “J”.
But, on a happier note, and in order to keep us from going totally insane, we’ve started decorating the room upstairs. I woke up last Wednesday morning to Q moving the bed into the other room. He’s so excited and wants to do all of the decorating ourselves! So far we’ve turned our crib into a toddler bed and bought sheets, blankets, and pillows to match. We’ve bought drapes, a lamp, a piggy bank, storage bins, a book shelf, a rug, and wall art. We have a transportation theme going and it seems to be coming together pretty well! We are hoping to put a verse on the wall and find some other wall art, as well as clean the carpets upstairs. We’ve got a lot to do before the interview! Right now, it’s just keeping us busy!
I’m so sorry I haven’t been keeping up as well lately. I think I said before that this whole “blog world” can become consuming! I’ve tried to cut back on my time blogging and following my friends, in order to spend more time with Q, especially when he’s home. But, please know that I check in as often as I can and I pray for and think of you all often!
Keep praying!
