I know it’s been quiet around here lately. I haven’t known what to tell and what to just wait on, but I figured I’d let you all in on what we know so far.
We have been given profiles of two biracial little boys (unrelated). They are both in the same county about an hour away from us. We have submitted our homestudy to both of their social workers. So now we just wait…and it’s agonizing!
What’s funny is, I recall our social worker saying, “We don’t get a lot of kids in your age range (0-3). It’s usually really quiet or we’ll get one here or there.”
So, here we are, in the same week that our homestudy was approved, we get 2 referrals for biracial boys (1.5 and 2.5 years old). I believe in a sovereign God!
Needless to say, we are so excited about what could come of these referrals. I need prayer though…I’d take both of them if I could!!! Q says, “No!” I just can’t see myself having to choose between the two. I’m praying for God to open one door and close the other, or open Q’s heart to both of them!! I think they would make great brothers!
We are hoping to hear something this week, God-willing. Our next step would be an interview with the social worker, either in our home or at their office. I don’t know how quick it could happen after that.
I’m in that “in-between stage” in my mind. So much left to do, but don’t know what to do or how soon to do it. Let’s just say I’m ready to start decorating and shopping as soon as I get the go signal!!
So, that’s about it around here! Please be praying. Our lives could be changing dramatically very soon, and I am so ready!

If Q is concerned about adopting two at once in those age ranges, we would love to talk to him/you about it. We adopted our two daughters together when they were 11 months old and 2.5 years old. We’re currently working on adopting two little boys who are almost 2 and almost 3 and not biological siblings.
Adopting two at once is sort of uncommon, especially two children who are unrelated, but it’s just been an amazing experience for us. Hopefully you’ll get good news soon!

Praying that all hearts will be open to God’s plan. Many of our kids are that close in age. It is a blessing.

I am so happy for you. At least they are communicating. Hey, 2 boys sounds good to me. I will pray for “Q”‘s heart to open to that possibility. I feel like you, it would be too hard to chose. Plus, I can tell you from experience (since I get mine in 2’s)that once they are home, you glad you did it in 2’s.
