First, thank you all for your prayers and kind words the past few days. You are such an encouragement to me.
On the spiritual front, things are looking brighter. Thank you for allowing me to be honest here. Sometimes, especially being in ministry, we feel that we have to be on fire daily, holier than thou, and put on our mask. God doesn’t expect this from us, but the world does. I know that all He expects is that we are constantly in tune with the fact that He expects us to grow in Him.
I know that my heart is in the right place when I feel so discouraged that I’m not in tune with Him or getting in His word like I should. All week I’ve yearned for a closeness to my Father…all it takes is putting away the computer, turning off the TV, closing the door, and diving in…He’s there…always.
I don’t know about you, but it makes me so angry (at myself) that I would let worldly, insufficient things get in the way of our Holy God. He’s worth so much more than that…
As I was in the word last night, I came across a passage that jumped out at me. One that I need to memorize and hold onto:
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
Once again, His word is always on time! Let us rest in this today. Knowing that He is always standing by, with mercy and grace.

You have no idea how that verse just blessed me! Joe just texted me awhile ago & said to pray for him b/c he’s tired, frustrated & beginning to get overwhelmed. I told him I thought we needed to pray together, so he’s stopping home in just a bit. I will share this with him!

I don’t know if the agency that you are getting your homestudy done through is the one that you will be adopting from … but you should check to see if there is a Catholic Charities in your area. I never thought to look into it at first bc I thought you had to be Catholic … not true. AND it only costs $13,000 to adopt from them. We live in Jacksonvill, Fl and our agency is in Pensacola but I know that they have several all over. Check them out :0)We were working with another agency, but have gone with CC for now. Being open to several agencies never hurts :0)

Hi!
Thank you so much for introducing yourself! How strange we are all so connected somehow! Besides the blog you found my comment on last night, the above person, Dardi, used the same Ethiopian agency we signed up with when we were pursuing infant adoption! The whole “six degrees of separation” is so true! Plus, I see you’re in NC, so we probably know some of the same people, somehow!
Take care, and I’m glad to “meet” you! 🙂

Oh, and P.S. our agency doesn’t charge ANY birthmother fees that a lot of agencies charge just to give you a heads up. The lady who told me about this agency lives in SC so I know that they do out of state adoptions. :0) Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by our blog. I’m excited to follow your journey to the child God has waiting for you. It’s not an easy journey, but a very blessed one.

Oh I wish you the very best throughout this process. It will be so worth it when it is done. A good friend of mine has three adopted children…life is so very good for the entire family!
