This morning, on this National Day of Prayer, I’m convicted to think about my own prayer life.
Q just finished (for the third time) reading George Muller’s Autobiography for a paper due today. I’ve read it through before and was convicted at how “serious” his prayer life was.
This reminds me of a quote by Martin Luther:
“If I fail to spend two hours in prayer each morning, the devil gets the victory through the day. I have so much business I cannot get on without spending three hours daily in prayer.”
Wow, three hours in prayer…just to get the day started! I must confess, my prayer life could be a lot stronger!
Today, I want to challenge you (1) to pray more. God hears the prayers of his people. And (2), read George Muller’s Autobiography…it will change your prayer life.
Praying that you are blessed today, that you see God’s hand in every aspect of your life, and that God would be glorified in ALL that we say and do today.

Wow, can you imagine what profound changes in our lives and even the world if we as followers of Christ devoted three hours to prayer daily? I fall far short of that. But I am taking your challenge to heart and will strive to pray more.
I will also be praying for your decisions about adoption. Often when God speaks to us about something, those around us who didn’t get the message don’t agree with us, or understand why we do the things we do. Don’t be discouraged by the remarks of others. Be obedient to what the Lord tells you to do and it will all happen in His time. I heard Beth Moore quote someone once and it was something like this, “God is always on time. He misses a few good opportunities to be early, but His timing is perfect.”
Your blog is precious. Thank you for stopping by mine. I’m looking forward to getting to know you as well.
