While browsing through our “personal profile” paperwork this afternoon, I realized that we have to provide 20 Family Books to be passed out to prospective mothers, agencies, etc.
We did a family book when we went through our foster care training classes (through Snapfish) but I didn’t like the quality, nor the fact that it was $20 (20X20=$400 yikes!).
So, if any of you know of a good online company or store that makes picture books for less than $20, please let me know!!

We’ve made a few on blurb.com which I really liked. They start at $13, a little cheaper anyway. There are often deals on places with free photo books, etc so keep watch for that, it would be fairly easy I’d think to upload the same content on a few sites where you could get some free ones. And then pay for the rest.
Here’s a deal this week I just found…
To celebrate Memorial Day, SeeHere.com is running a special two-day promotion from 5/27-2/28 with 50% off all photo books (starting at just $4.99) plus FREE standard shipping, just in time to order something for your husband or dad for Father’s Day!
To make this deal even better, they’ll also be donating $2 from every sale to Homes for Our Troops, a national non-profit organization based in Taunton, MA that builds specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans that have returned home from Iraq and Afghanistan. These homes are provided at no cost to the veterans, and not only give them a place to live but also help them regain their independence and provide a home for their families.
To take advantage of this offer, head to SeeHere.com and create your photo book. Enter code tvbook at checkout to receive the special pricing and ensure that a donation is made to Homes for Our Troops on your behalf!
You will do great with your home study visit! I always got worked up about our visits, but they were a piece of cake. I did feel like at any moment they would ask me the size of my underwear b/c it seems like they asked everything else, but, thankfully, that question never came up! ;o)
Once you have your picture book done, I think you should let us have a peek!
We found a local copier store to do them on the cheap – that was AFTER we’d spent $25 a pop at Staples and Office Depot! Maybe there’s a place by your house? But I like Lisa’s ideas for online deals… also try Snapfish – at snapfish.com. right now, I think they’re having some deals b/c they keep emailing me! 🙂 ~*GOOD LUCK*~ tomorrow … but you won’t need it. God has already gone before you!!
20!!?!?! wow that’s a lot! We did 2 on shutterfly for $20 a piece but someone told me to take my one copy and go to a color copy place and have them put together there for cheaper. I still can’t get over how many you need!
