Q and I (and 6 other people from our church) participated in Disaster Relief Training this weekend through Baptists on Mission and the North Carolina Baptist Men (ok, if you didn’t know by now…I’m a Baptist!)
Most of us participated in the mass feeding training and Q did chaplaincy training. Well, the mass feeders had to rise at 4:15 this morning and be prepared to feed the “masses” for breakfast! They walk you through each area of mass feeding, giving you hands on training and real life scenarios. By the end of the day we knew how to inventory a truck of food, sanitize and wash all of the dishes, cook for 10-50,000 people, and serve the food. We received our “badge” at the end of the day and we are now ready to be called on mission should any natural disaster strike.
This brings me to the question: Are we prepared to go wherever God calls us to go?
I have to admit that I have a fear that God would call me to another country or “out of my comfort zone”. But, over the past few months I’ve realized that when God calls you somewhere (or to do something) he gives you a heart for it at the same time.
So, I challenge you to be in tune with where God is leading you and be prepared to go wherever he calls you…His will is always what’s best for us…never forget that!
