**The majority of our adoption story is currently reverted to draft due to some personal issues. If you’d like to speak to me personally about our adoption story, please feel free to contact me directly.**
In 2009 the Lord impressed foster care and adoption upon our hearts. We prayed and sought the Lord’s direction on where and how He’d like us to fulfill that call. We decided to start with the least expensive option and the one closest to home, our local Department of Social Services. We took the classes required of us and then his family moved in with us which left us at a stand still.
In May of 2010 we decided to have our homestudy completed, but with a different agency. In the time that his family was living with us we decided that we couldn’t stand the thought of falling in love with a child through foster care and risk losing them. This agency allowed us the opportunity to have our home study done and have our profile submitted for children already available for adoption through the foster care system. It took forever for our homestudy to be completed. The social worker that was assigned to our case was horribly slow and by the end of the year we weren’t even licensed, yet. But, we had been presented with a few children and were interviewed for one little boy in particular. Unfortunately, we were not chosen to be his parents.
But, oh what a sovereign and gracious God we serve! In the days after hearing that we weren’t chosen for this precious little boy, the Lord began to work in mighty ways! A blog friend connected us with a private adoption agency in Florida and we hesitantly submitted our profile for birthmother’s to view. The story from here is long, so here are the posts leading up to one glorious, glorious day!
