At the beginning of January we had a major crisis. Our oldest daughter (5) was admitted to the hospital with possible appendicitis. We were frantic. Who would watch our youngest? Who would take out the puppy we’d just gotten the day before? How would we be able to swing this on our own.
We’ve only been in Atlanta for 8 months and while we’ve worked at forming friendships, it wasn’t immediately clear how we would be able to do this now that my parents weren’t 30 minutes down the road and available to help.
But, God! As soon as our friends heard what was going on, there were offers to help. And that week I realized who my people were here in our new city. My people were willing to drop what they were doing to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our family. And can I tell you, our relationships have grown by leaps and bounds over the last few weeks, just because of the way they loved us during a crisis!
I loved Lil’s post over at Embracing the Lovely this week! It reminded me of how we were ministered to just a few weeks ago. It reminded me that I need to minister in the same way when a need arises! Christ has called us to love others tangibly.
How are you being the hands and feet of Jesus to those around you? Hop on over to Embracing the Lovely to read Lil’s post!

What a beautiful way your friends in your new city ministered to you. Helping in times of crisis – that is what the local church should do, and I’m passionate about everyone having a home church.
Hope all is going well for you now!

I totally agree, Jerralea! Our previous church home was such a huge blessing to us. We’ve struggled to find that here, but I’m thankful that the Lord has given us all that we need in those that we do have!
Thanks for stopping by!
