“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” John14:1-4
I know that thinking about the end times can be scary. Not knowing when or how can conjure all sorts of thoughts and emotions. I’m one of those people who isn’t worried about how that whole scene will play out. I don’t get caught up in arguing over details. It will happen one way or another. His Word guarantees it. As I have walked with the Lord over the past 15 years, He has given me such peace about what comes after He returns.
There is a place for us in Heaven.
After we have accepted the gift of salvation, we have been grafted into the family of God. We are now His children. Heaven is now our home. Everything about earth is temporary. It’s meant to be that way.
Jesus has prepared that place for us.
In theses verses, Jesus tells the disciples that He must leave them in order to prepare a place for us. He made them a promise. His promise still holds true for us today.
He will be with us in that place.
Jesus was with God before the creation of time and has returned to sit at His right hand. Heaven is Jesus’ home as well. We are co-heirs with Him. He died a gruesome death on a cross in order to restore us into relationship with the Father. Where else would Christ be for all of eternity? He loves us deeply and longs to dwell with us forever.
Do you fear the second coming of Christ? Why or why not?

Hello, Karina. In a world that has forgotten or seems to ignore Christ, it is good to see that you have started on your faith journey. I especially like that you say that you desire to be an obedient daughter of the King.
In John 17, Jesus prayed that His people may all be one. In light of this, all Christians should stop doing their own thing and be part of the one Church which Jesus established upon the rock of St. Peter. For the first 1500 years, there was only one Church, not thousands. There was only one set of doctrines for worship and the understanding of God, and when other ideas, such as Christ Jesus being a “created being” rather than God (the heretic Arias) the people of God looked to the Church to settle the dispute once and for all time.
Why is this important? It is important because unbelievers are confused by so many different “churches” claiming to represent God, and yet all teaching something different. God is not schizophrenic, yet to see what tries to pass itself off a Christianity, one would certainly think so. It is also important because Jesus Himself said that the unity of His people would be a testimony that God the Father had truly sent Him for the salvation of the world. Well, if our unity says this, then what does the current disunity say about Jesus? Perhaps this is the very reason that the Church has no testimony or power today
So I would invite you to find Christ’s Church and enter it to fulfill your faith journey and enter into the fullness of the Christian faith. You can tell that Church in this manner:
1. It is under the authority which Jesus established on earth — the Holy Father of Rome.
2. It offers the Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Christ, which Jesus Himself says gives us eternal life (John 6:53)
3. It offers the seven Sacraments of the Christian faith, which are the means by which God gives us grace and power to live our Christian lives.
4. It has been in existence since the beginning of the New Testament. You can find it in every century all the way back to Christ. It was not invented by a man sometime after the 1500’s
If you have any questions, I would be glad to talk with you, as I myself just recently found this Church after years of thinking that I was in the Church that Jesus established. As a convert, I think I can be of help to anyone who is confused about the Church.
God bless.

Thank you Edward for your thoughts and sharing.Great insight! I attend an amazing church based on all things Jesus and all things biblical. We have been granted a great deal of favor in our community. We are truly the hands and feet of Christ to a lost and broken world.
