Be the Light in a Dark Room
We are getting to that time of year where it seems that someone hits fast forward on our lives. Thanksgiving is around the corner and then Christmas literally seems like it’s the next day. Take the time to hit pause on that fast forward button. Look at all the wonders that are in your life. Sometimes we get so focused on what is not going right that we forget to be thankful. That is what this time of year is for; to be thankful.
Imagine a cold, dark room lit with only one candle. People would be drawn to the light for the warmth and to see. We all have that special light in us called the Holy Spirit. Let others see that light in you and watch how much warmer that room gets. When this light is lit in us, we are giving glory back to God. Share that warmth with others. All it takes is to smile at someone standing behind you at the store or to say hello to someone as you pass them on the street.
May the Lord smile on you.” Numbers 6:25 NLT
Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
What is your favorite part of Thanksgiving?

Love this post! I totally agree that this time of year can throw us into a frenzy if we aren’t careful. I shared my heart-felt thoughts on this topic earlier this week in this post. Check it out if you have time. God bless and keep on encouraging others with this site! http://reststopforthesoul.com/2014/11/19/4-reasons-why-im-not-celebrating-christmas/

Thanks, Lisa! I loved your article; thanks for sharing it! It is crazy this time of year and many times people forget about what is important and the reason why we celebrate at this time of year. Blessings to you as well and continue to keep encouraging others also 🙂

Kelly, I am so guilty of staying on fast forward. I am going to try much harder this year to hit that pause button and let my light shine! Thank you for keeping it real.

Thank you for your kind words, Barbara! I think we are all guilty of that but I have noticed lately that by taking my time, others have been able to see the light in me. Sometimes when we are in a rush, we don’t give others time to see that in us. Try it out for one day and see the peace that it brings you. There will always be work or something to do but take time to savor the moment you are in now! Blessings to you and thanks for commenting!
