Q had an opportunity to preach (to the adults) last Sunday and he did such a great job. The title of his message was “An Attitude of Gratitude”.
For our family, this Thanksgiving day comes with a few tears. The last year for our family has been insane. In November we lost our first biological baby to an ectopic pregnancy. In March my sister’s mother-in-law passed away. In April we lost Moriah’s brother to a failed adoption. In May Q’s mom passed away.
To put it lightly — the holidays are a little more difficult this year. We’re missing loved ones and thinking about the babies that should have been here.
But, we have so much to be grateful for. Today we woke up and were resolved to have an attitude of gratitude.
When the world says we should be sad, the Lord says “Rejoice! I have given you the greatest gift of all — salvation!”
As Christians, I don’t think we live with an attitude of gratitude. Instead of living like the world, upset at every unforeseen circumstance, we should be overflowing with joy and gratitude for the gift of salvation we have been given — at a great price!
No matter what your Thanksgiving day looks like, Jesus is enough and he has given us hope for the future!

I love this, Christie. It’s hard to be thankful when things aren’t going well, but you have to be because ungratefulness steals all your joy. We should strive to have “attitudes of gratitude” all year long-even though it IS hard. With the way things are going right now, I think I’m going to spend my Thanksgiving in the hospital because of Lee’s stomach, but….your words inspire me to not let it get me down. Praying for your family as this difficult time of year approaches without some of the people you love.

This was a wonderful post. I really lingered on these words: “Instead of living like the world, upset at every unforeseen circumstance, we should be overflowing with joy and gratitude for the gift of salvation we have been given — at a great price!” What a key concept right there, to not live like the world. We all have things that blindside us; it’s when we lift our gaze up that we truly see! xoxo jules
