I had seen this idea on another blog before but didn’t get involved. So, when I saw another opportunity to join on Heather’s blog at Cook Family Chronicles, I immediately signed up!
I anticipated who Heather would pair me up with and was so excited when I got my email!
Jennifer at Allergy Lane was my girl!
My first order of business was to stalk Jennifer! I followed her blog, I became a fan on Facebook, and I followed her on Twitter! My task was to get to know her without her knowing (stalker!) and find the perfect coffee mug to mail to her!
I had the hardest time finding something! All I knew was that Jennifer’s family had tons of allergies and she blogged about their lifestyle as a result!
I googled “Allergy Themed Coffee Mugs”; not so pretty! ๐
I then said, “Lord, please help me pick something that will encourage her!” And this is what I chose…
The next weekend Jennifer added me as a friend on Facebook! I sent her a little message and told her that I hoped she was encouraged and that I’d had the hardest time choosing something for her!
I received a message back as she began to explain to me that her best friend had passed away unexpectedly earlier in the week; a day before her birthday. The mug came on Jennifer’s birthday; the day after one of the hardest events of her life. She also said that the verse on the mug (Matthew 6:8) was one of her life verses.
I knew then that the Lord had orchestrated a coffee mug swap to encourage and bring together new friends! I am continually amazed at how the Lord reveals himself, even over coffee. I’m humbled that He would allow me to play a small part in his big plan! I’m so undeserving…
A few days later I received a package at the door! In it was this…
Jennifer couldn’t have chosen anything to describe me better! The Lord has blessed me in unimaginable ways and he certainly has “filled my life with good things”!
Jennifer, thank you for putting a ton of thought into something for me! I cherish it more than you know! Thank you for allowing me to stalk you and more importantly, thank you for allowing the Lord to encourage you through me!
Has something like a coffee mug every brightened your day?

What a neat idea and awesome story! I know it sounds so simple, but a lady at my Ladies’ Bible Class gave each of us a paper clip in a shape of across to help us bookmark our workbooks. It’s a little thing that meant a lot!

Wow this post just blessed my entire day. Thank you so much! I prayed before I started picking the swap partners. I put everyone’s name in a bowl and just picked two at a time. I just let God be in control. How awesome to hear your story ๐
