Thanksgiving ’10

November 28, 2010 by Christie 3 Comments

It’s been an eventful few days, full of an abundance of food, and a little traveling, topped off with the greatest college football rivalry…ever!

Our Thanksgiving day started out with Q’s family. We enjoyed our time together and then headed home for a nap. Talk about feeling like a fatty! We then woke up and headed to my sister’s in-laws for dinner. By that time I could barely eat anymore! We had a great time though, and enjoyed each other’s company.

On Friday morning we headed to Clemson, SC for a little visit with my aunt and uncle and to partake in the Clemson/South Carolina game; a yearly favorite around here! Unfortunately, I froze my tail off for a Clemson loss 🙁

We awoke bright and early this morning and headed home in time for church. Needless to say, I took a long nap this afternoon and enjoyed every bit of it!

We’re now anxiously awaiting the arrival of a little one around here. My sister is heading to the hospital tomorrow night and will be induced on Tuesday morning. He should be here by Wednesday, at the latest (she’s hoping Tuesday!). Please be in prayer for her during this time!

Of course, no adoption news. I’ve really allowed myself to enjoy this time of the year with family; knowing that the Lord is in control. I’ve had an abundance of peace the last week or so. I’m so blessed to serve a Lord that quiets my heart just when I expect that I’ll be anxious. I’m so thankful that He’s allowed my heart to be filled with joy in anticipation of my sister’s baby. Please be in prayer for me on Tuesday as the experience of birth may be the hardest on my heart.

I hope you all had a great holiday. I’m off to catch up on you guys!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday as well.
I will be praying that all goes well with your sister’s delivery and that you are able to also rejoice in your new family member arriving. Hang in there, it is tough when you are going through these times. Just know when “he” says it is is your time, you will be able to rejoice and accept all of your blessings over flowing because it will be your season! Your blessings are coming. Just continue to be faithful as you are and have been.
I am sure that you have heard this, but I have been told this more often recently, “There is no testimony without a Test”.

By the way, I am a native of N C as well, however, I currently do not reside there. We just returned from there for Thanksgiving.
