We are done!!! Can you tell how excited I am!?
Our meeting today went really well. Actually, it was pretty uneventful. She left some papers for us to go over and sign and approved our photo book (all except our last name on the first page…ugh!) and asked that we make the other copies and get all of the paperwork to her next week.
We also have to set up a meeting with a friend of hers that will do our medication administration training. We will most likely do that on Monday or Tuesday night. Other than that, we are done with our end of the deal. She should get our homestudy written up in the next week or two and then email it to us for approval. She will then send it off to her supervisor who will approve it. They will then send it off to the state for approval.
While the state is taking their time “approving” we can go ahead and get our name out there and she can start referring kids to us…wow!!! Can you believe it!?
She also said that she has seen a few pregnant mothers come in over the past few weeks that want to make an adoption plan (our agency receives more birthmothers than a local department of social services would but not near the number that a private agency does). So, that is encouraging also.
We are really excited about what God has in store for us over the next few months. Please be in prayer that we would follow His will and not our own. Pray for the families on the other end of this that are hurting and that He would prepare their hearts for what He has in store.
Thank you all so much for praying…it means the world to us!
I promise my next update will include pictures of our photobook!!

YAY YAY YAY!! Congrats on jumping that major hurdle. It’s all down hill from here Christie! I understand about the last name on the front- some birthmoms want a closed adoption and others will want open (and then you can share more intimate details like last names, etc.). I will be praying hard for you – the next few weeks can be very tough and will try your patience… we were offered several BM opportunities that we knew God was telling us “no” to, even though we wanted to say “YES!!”. Then you might say “Yes” to some opportunities that do not work out. Just listen to God’s voice in this process and be patient. Praying for God’s clear voice, direction, & peace, as well as for your future birthmom & YOUR UPCOMING BABY!!!

Praise God! How exciting!
May God richly bless you as you travel this journey to adoption. One thing is for sure – today, and in all the years to come you will have a fuller, richer understanding of the heart of Christ when you understand how this child who is not flesh of your flesh comes to be the world to you.
You will see miracles take place in your own heart and in this precious little ones heart too. This child will always be your son/daughter…and never your ‘adopted’ son or daughter….Not saying that you will pretend that you gave birth to this child but I guarantee you will forget that you didn’t!
As you draw this child into your lives, into your marriage, into your family and make this child your heir you will be overwhelmed by the power of your love and then you will, at this stage, have a tiny glimpse of the love God has for you when he made you HIS daughter.
Every blessing to you both – you are in my prayers x
