Disclaimer: Whining ahead…proceed with caution 🙂
Q and I were reading Psalm 52 last night and it really got me thinking…
A couple of weeks ago someone approached us and told us that they didn’t agree with us sending our adoption letter out. That if we chose to adopt, we should be able to pay for it. Since that day, I’ve gone back and forth, “Lord, we prayed and prayed about sending this letter out. We felt Your hand upon it and we only wanted to do what would be pleasing to You.” Did we do the right thing? Did we “hear” God wrong? What are we supposed to do? How is this going to work? “Lord, I want to have complete faith but it’s so hard right now. I don’t believe that this will happen. It’s too big, it’s too much…HELP!”
Plus, another negative pregnancy test…another downer.
And then we read Psalm 52: 8-9
But I am like a green olive tree
in the house of God.
I trust in the steadfast love of God
forever and ever.
I will thank you forever,
because you have done it.
I will wait for your name, for it is good,
in the presence of the godly.
And my prayer was, “Lord, help us to believe that You are in control even when the money isn’t flowing in and people are discouraging. Help us to know that You are steadfast in Your love for us and that “You will do it”.”
And Q said, “He told us to adopt. He will do it! George Mueller prayed for seven years for a new orphanage…God will do it in his time.”
And this morning I looked in the mirror. I looked into my eyes. I saw the pain of being childless and I cried out, “Lord, heal my body for Your purposes and Your glory. Lord, provide for this adoption for Your purposes and Your glory…and Lord, help me to praise You through it all!“
I ask you today, more than anything, pray for us! Pray for God’s will in this all.
And to all of you who have faithfully given to our adoption fund…we cherish you and thank God for you daily. You are a blessing and we love you!

Christie,
I didn’t hear any whining in that post! Cling to the Lord…trust Him and trust your walk with Him.
I want you to see what some friends of mine created for their adoption – it is called “HopeSuds” (I believe the website is http://www.hopesuds.com). Once they sell enough to pay for their adoption, they are going to use it to help others pay for their adoption expenses. Go read it…let me know what you think. (Also let me know if that is not the right web address.)

Christie – It is unbelievable that people would say something like that. No matter what, there will always be nay-sayers. We are also raising money for our adoption expenses by selling cookbooks! It is going GREAT so far – check out the company’s website at http://www.morriscookbooks.com (I think that’s the link). 🙂 Good luck!!!!

Christie ~ I am praying. It is encouraging to see you & Q turning to each other…keep loving each other & praying together. Continuing to make that foundation strong through the waiting will be such a blessing to your family as it grows. And it will!
I’m so sorry for the people that say things that sting. Unfortunately, the truth is the “bad guy” uses these people to try to derail us from the path God has set before us trying to cause discouragement, fear, chaos…you name it. Be encouraged; for every person that doesn’t “get it”, there are so many more that do!
