Our weekend turned out pretty uneventful…which is how I like it most of the time. Yesterday was full of church and Superbowl festivities. I haven’t been to church in 2 weeks (we had the ice storm last weekend) and I was ready to get back and see my church family! It was great to see the kids and feel the love!
We are now in the process of praying about purchasing a home (we are renting right now). Can you pray for too many BIG life decisions at one time!!? Please be in prayer with us. We want to do what is right and pleasing to God in every aspect of our lives.
I firmly believe that if you aren’t praying about the decisions you make (even the small ones) either you won’t be completely content in the decision you make, you won’t feel certain that it was the right decision, or you will make the wrong decision and be in a world of trouble! So, pray it is!
Q’s lesson (we teach the middle school students and a parent teaches the high school) yesterday morning was about knowing that the Bible is true, knowing that the decisions we’re making are right. It’s so important to remember that the only way you’re going to know is if you are reading your word, getting Godly counsel from Godly people and listening to the Holy Spirit that lives within you (if you’re a Christian).
I often wonder how people that don’t have a relationship with Christ ever know that the decisions they’re making are the right ones. I have to believe that their whole world is tumultuous, not knowing that they aren’t standing on a firm foundation but instead on shifting sand.
Let’s remember to stand on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ today. Trusting that he knows our every need (before we even know it) and that we are safe and secure in his eternal plan for our lives.
For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and alien, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:18-22
