Deciding to volunteer for a Christian blog or e-ministry is a big step and a generous one! We’re grateful for those who consider becoming part of the STC team and we can’t wait to get to know you! (Get to know us here and here!)
Our current volunteer staff openings include:
- Out & About Volunteer (social media, networking, communications)
- Around the Site Volunteer (back-end, editing/updating, tech research & problem solving)
- Good Fit Volunteer (researches and initiates affiliate/marketing opportunities & relationships)
- Google Love Volunteer (assists with developing site wide SEO & keyword optimizing)
A more detailed description for each volunteer opening is available below. But first let’s talk about how Satisfaction Through Christ blog shows love for our volunteers.
Current volunteers are listed under a special section on our Authors & Staff Page. We will feature your photo and/or a thumbnail logo representing your blog or website, which will link directly to your homepage. We will include a brief description of how you serve here at STC and/or what we love about you. In addition you can provide up to four social media links, as well as your favorite Bible verse, if you’d like.
Other benefits of volunteering for STC blog include being on our radar when we search for content to cross promote, adding your blog or website to our unofficial/unpublished blog roll, as well as discounted rates for our advertising options. (We will of course provide professional references for volunteers who have served a whole term, upon request.)
We ask volunteers to commit to six month terms where you would interact with us either weekly or daily. Volunteers who continually serve in a way that meets or exceeds expectations will continue to be listed on our “Former Servants” list, also found on the Authors & Staff page, for an additional six months!
Volunteers are of course welcome to apply for back to back terms. We include the six months commitment time frame because we value your time and resources; we don’t want to see you burn out. We want you to be able to take a break with no hurt feelings!
Still interested in volunteering here at Satisfaction Through Christ? Take a look at the following volunteer descriptions to find your best servant role for our team. Accepted volunteer applicants will be provided a more detailed file of specific accounts, responsibilities and any other details relevant to their positions.
Out & About Volunteer
Our Out & About Volunteer will handle social media scheduling responsibilities on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, etc. We’ll also ask you to keep an eye out for content across our social media networks that is worth passing on to our viewers. This volunteer may spend time following pinners, starting Twitter conversations, or developing Facebook interaction. We’re a fan of creativity when it comes to social media – we want to hear your ideas, see you grow and gain experience, and hopefully make a few friends along the way.
This volunteer would ideally contribute one to two hours (or more!) daily (weekdays) to this type of work, or a weekly equivalent.
Around the Site Volunteer
Our Around the Site Volunteer is someone who has significant understanding of software and technology that relate to the world of blogging. WordPress knowledge is especially helpful since our volunteer will be heavily involved in back end updating, site problem solving, improving the quality of our website and will be a source of information for new ideas/plugins or any other behind the scenes additions. Since the majority of the STC contributors are not experts we will also look to our Around the Site volunteer to send along any posts of value they run across.
This volunteer would ideally contribute two to three hours (or more!) weekly, and be willing to standby for questions or urgent site concerns.
Good Fit Volunteer
Our Good Fit Volunteer is primarily responsible for researching affiliate style opportunities for STC blog and initiating contact with companies/blogs via the appropriate marketing emails/contact. (We will provide pre-written materials to be used when approaching companies.) The Good Fit Volunteer may occasionally also be asked to research a company or website which has approached STC about affiliate/marketing/advertising opportunities. We envision our Good Fit Volunteer as someone who stays in touch with the blog world and who will let us know about opportunities to reach out that match STC’s ministry well.
This volunteer would ideally contribute two to three hours (or more!) weekly.
Google Love Volunteer
Our Google Love Volunteer is just what it sounds like. We’re always in need of friends who understand SEO, and who can give regular SEO assessments of the different pages and posts on our site. We will look for SEO and keyword assistance on both new posts and throughout the archives here at STC, and depend heavily on our volunteer’s advice. Our volunteer will honestly bring to our attention any and all areas of our site that need improvement in this area, as well as bring to us suggestions and solutions for problem spots.
This volunteer would ideally contribute one to two hours (or more!) daily, or the weekly equivalent.
“Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be given back to you.”
Luke 6:38 (esv)

Please include as much information as possible, including info about your blog, the reasons you’d like to volunteer, perhaps why you are passionate about social media or how you learned to edit html, etc. We want to get to know you – even more than we are looking for volunteers, we are looking for friends!
Please note that this form is an initial application and we may require several email conversations before making a decision. Also we will dedicate prayer to each and every volunteer decision and so we cannot put an exact time line on this process.
